Copa America 2011 Fixtures and Schedule

For the group stage, twelve teams were divided into three groups of four. Each team will play each other team in their group once, with three points being awarded for a win and one point for a draw.

Argentina face Bolivia in the first match of the 2011 Copa America on July 1^st, Brazil’s first game is against Venezuela on July 3^rd and the opening game in Group C is Uruguay v Peru on July 4^th. A new innovation in this year’s tournament will be the addition of 30 minutes extra time should any match during the knockout stages finish level at the end of normal time. Previously, these games had gone straight to a penalty shootout.

The 2011 Copa America Final is due to take place on July 24^th in Buenos Aires with the 3^rd and 4^th place play off being contested the day before. As hosts, Argentina will be desperate to avenge their defeat at the hands of Brazil in 2007. This would certainly make for another interesting final should both team progress. Keep up to date
