Alonso’s German Grand Prix Odds Cuts

The VIP Gambler’s outright tip, Fernando Alonso, is now 2/1 to win the German Grand Prix after qualifying on pole position.

But despite the Drivers’ Championship leader starting at the front of the grid Sebestian Vettel, who qualified second, remains the race favourite at 15/8 with Betfred.

British Grand Prix winner Mark Webber was third fastest, however the Australian racer has been demoted five places for a gear box change and is out to 16/1 now.

Alonso, who was advised last week at 9/2, took pole in very wet conditions at the Hockenheimring, with the Ferrari qualifying 0.405 seconds ahead of Vettel, and the Spaniard credited his success to the decision to stop for a new set of tyres in the third qualifying run.

There was further disappointment for McLaren as both Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton failed to challenge the pace setters and will both start down the grid in seventh and eighth respectively.

That has seen Hamilton’s outright odds slip to 11/1 while Button is available at 14s.
