Daniel Agger has been cut to 11/8 with BetVictor to seal a move to Premier League champions Manchester City before the end of the transfer window.

There have been growing reports over the past few days that the Liverpool defender is close to joining City, which has seen a spate of money on the Denmark international, resulting in the bookies reducing his odds from 3/1.

Agger is not the only Liverpool player linked with a move away from Anfield. West Ham are reported to have agreed a £2m loan fee with the Reds to take Andy Carroll for the upcoming season, however Aston Villa are also said to be interested.

Carroll is not believed to be key to Brendan Rodgers plans for this campaign but the England international is loathe to leave the Merseyside club permanently.

“Liverpool are looking to offload a number of squad players from their vast wage bill, but Agger is certainly not one of them and we believe new boss Brendan Rodgers will do all he can to keep the Dane at the Club,” said BetVictor spokesperson Charlie McCann.

“We have seen plenty of money for Andy Carroll to join Aston Villa and have cut him from 20s to 4/1 with West Ham the 4/5 favourites from 4/7 to secure his services between now and the end of the transfer window.”
