Reports in today’s nationals that Arsenal are willing to sell Theo Walcott have seen some bookmakers make the winger odds-on to leave north London.

Arsenal have reportedly handed Walcott an ultimatum of sign a new contract within 48 hours or pack your bags – with Manchester City and Liverpool ready and waiting to send their bell boys to pick them up.

The England international is believed to be unhappy at the sale of Robin van Persie to Manchester United and has, as a result, stalled on putting pen to paper on a new five-year contract worth £75,000 a week.

BetVictor have gone 8/13 from 25/1 yesterday that Walcott ends up at the Etihad before the end of the transfer window, while other bookies are less convinced and price the Sky Blues at 2/1.

Arsenal have got history of selling to City (see Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy) but Roberto Mancini is said to be close to closing a deal for another English winger, Scott Sinclair, from Swansea.

However, the Welsh club did confirm yesterday that they had rejected the latest overtures from the blue side of Manchester.

Liverpool are 4/1 in the market and with Stuart Downing set to be converted to a left-back if you believe today’s papers then Brendan Rodgers could well be on the look out for another winger.
