With a full round of World Cup qualifiers to pick from on Friday night it means only one thing – accumulators at the ready.

Away from the mismatches Russia v Portugal looks the most enticing fixture. Russia were convincing in their opening two qualifiers, beating Northern Ireland 2-0 before following up with a 4-0 defeat of Israel.

Portugal were not quite so convincing when dispatching Luxemburg by a meagre 2-1 scoreline, however,  a 3-0 victory of Azerbaijan swiftly followed.

Cristiano Ronaldo and co. are 17/10 for the win, which looks even better when you take the two nations’ head-to-head record into account (Portugal 3, Draw 1, Russia 1) but Russia manager Fabio Capello is not in the habit of losing qualifiers and the draw is tipped at 11/5.
