Swindon at home to Premier League side Aston Villa are the prime suspect to cause the major upset of the fourth round, with the League One promotion hopefuls available at 12/5.

Paolo Di Canio’s side have knocked out superior opposition in all three previous rounds including Stoke City. Villa may not be as meek a test as their league form suggests however.

Paul Lambert’s team have not won for over a month – but their last victory came in this competition in the form of a 4-2 defeat of Manchester City.

Whatever the outcome this tie promises goals with these two sides combining for 17 in five matches in this competition already so get on the over 3.5 line to be covered at 9/4.

Elsewhere, Bradford could also get in on the upset action with victory over Wigan. The Bantams have had a good start to the season, as have Wigan, but the League Two club are likely to put more emphasis on the competition.

Under 2.5 goals is advised for the north east derby of Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Three of the previous four renewals of this fixture have been under this line and the Black Cats have struggled to create chances this season.

At 7/4 Southampton are only just favourites to win at Elland Road when they take on Leeds, who booked their place in the fourth round with a 2-1 defeat of Everton. Nigel Adkins desperately needs a win, regardless of the competition, and the Saints are fancied to oblige.
