Silly season might be on a momentary pause due to Euro 2012 but there are still some good transfer markets available.

Robin Van Persie’s contract talks with Arsenal are likely to be the transfer saga of the summer. Will he? Won’t he? Juventus? Real Madrid?

The Dutch forward and last season’s Premier League top scorer had agreed not to speak about his Arsenal future until after Euro 2012 –  but he probably didn’t expect the Netherland’s not to make it out of the group stages.

Paddy Power are offering 11/8 for Van Persie to still be at the Emirates come the end of the transfer window, and that seems good value for a player who spoke in glowing terms about his affection of the club just a few weeks ago.

Arsenal have strengthened their forward line through the signings of Lukas Podolksi and the imminent £12.8m addition of Olivier Giroud from Montpellier.

And while those deals could be looked upon as replacements for Van Persie they are more likely to convince the 28-year-old to stay in North London.

Arsenal’s local rivals, Tottenham, have their own personnel problems with speculation regarding both Luka Modric and Gareth Bale. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy showed his determination to keep his prize assets at the club by withstanding Chelsea’s interest in Modric last summer.

But with no Champions League football the Croatian could be pried away from White Hart Lane, with Real Madrid 13/8 to be his next destination.

Manchester United are also widely reported to be interested in the midfielder and you can get 2/1 at BetVictor for Modric to be plying his trade at Old Trafford next season.

United are also rumoured to be chasing Everton left-back Leighton Baines and the England defender is 2/7 on to make the move down the East Lancs road.

Should Baines make the switch from Merseyside to Manchester it is likely Patrice Evra will be shipped off. Arsenal are 5/1 favourites to take Evra, while Italian champions Juventus are a tempting 12s.
