Manchester City remain favourites to sign Robin van Persie, with the Sky Blues and two other clubs having bid for the Arsenal striker this week.

City, along with Manchester United and Italian champions Juventus, have reportedly lodged bids for the Dutch international – but the North London club rejected all three for failing to meet their £20m valuation of the player.

Van Persie is entering into the last season of his contract at the Emirates and went public last month in revealing his desire to leave the club, citing a difference in ambition as the reason.

The interest from City, United and Juventus has caused Arsenal to leave the 29-year-old out of their squad for the pre-season tour of Asia, with the Gunners departing for Singapore today.

Man City are 6/5 to sign Van Persie, with United 11/8 second favourites. Betfair are offering odds of just over 5/2 for the striker to remain with Arsenal for the coming season, a scenario which seems increasingly unlikely.
