Fulham v Norwich
Saturday 18th August 2012, KO 15:00
An intriguing clash here at Craven Cottage between Martin Jol’s Fulham side and a Norwich City team under the guidance of new manager Chris Houghton. Both sides looks to have completed some shrewd business in the transfer window with Fulham in particular appearing to have made a fantastic signing in the shape of Hugo Rodallega on a free transfer.

Last season, Fulham improved as the campaign went on under Martin Jol and were a real force to be reckoned with, particularly on home soil. I’d imagine they will be fairly happy kicking off the new season at Craven Cottage against a Norwich side who will still be finding their feet since the departure of long time manager Paul Lambert.
I think Chris Houghton is a great appointment for the Canaries, although Paul Lambert would be a very tough act to follow for anyone. Just surviving in the Premier League would have been some achievement for Norwich last season but they actually managed to challenge in the top half of the table for the majority of their 2011-12 campaign.
While I don’t expected Norwich to suffer from the so-called second season syndrome, I do think Fulham will have too much for the travelling side in this fixture. 4/5 represents a value price for the home win.
