Reading Premier League 2012/13 Betting Preview
English Premier League, Football Betting Tips
Reading are on their latest upwards tug of their yo-yo existence, and Royals fans will be hoping this time will be different.
The club have gone through changes on and off the field over the summer, most notably a Russian take-over which has given cause for optimism – but don’t go heralding the club as the new Chelsea just yet.
Summer activity
Pavel Pogrebnyak has sealed a move back to the Premier League after his loan spell at Fulham last season. The Russian started brilliantly at Craven Cottage before fading and it will be interesting to see how productive he is over a full campaign.
The capture of Danny Guthrie represents another piece of good business by the club, while Jem Karacan’s return is almost like a new signing.
You can rely on…
Adam Le Fondre to score coming off the bench. The former Rotherham hit-man netted nine times as a substitute in last season’s Championship making him a good shout for a last goalscorer punt.
Where should your money go?
As a newly promoted club, survival is the order of the day for Reading and they are odds-on to avoid the drop, however, if you do fancy the yo-yo to bounce straight back down then 5/4 is the best price available.
In the club’s top scorer market Pogrebnyak leads the way at 4/7, while the unproven yet impressive Le Fondre is at 5s.
The price of 5/6 for Reading to amass 36 or more points also looks a tempting punt.
Did you know…?
Famous for their hooped shirts, Reading have also played in stripes and sky blue during their history.
