Swansea Premier League 2012/13 Betting PreviewEnglish Premier League, Football Betting Tips
With second season syndrome hanging over Swansea like a guillotine the last thing they needed was to lose their inspirational manager and two best players.
The Swans have acted fast to negate those losses, but can they really survive another season in the Premier League employing their continental passing game?
More has been made of Swansea’s summer departures than arrivals. Manager Brendan Rodgers has taken over at Liverpool and snatched influential midfielder Joe Allen, albeit for £15m, while Gylfi Sigurdsson has joined Tottenham.
In their stead are new manager Michael Laudrup (pictured), Spanish midfielder Michu, who is perhaps the most exciting of the additions, and defender Chico.
You can rely on…
Swansea to get a result at home. The Swans lost only four times at the Liberty Stadium last season, a run which included the scalps of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Where should your money go?
Although weaker than last season Swansea should still have enough quality to preserve their Premier League status for another year so ignore their price of 15/8 to go down. A better option is the 5/6 for the Swans to reach 40 points – a total seven less than last season’s.
Laudrup’s team are also available at Evens to breach the top 15, which is decent value for a club that finished in 11th previously.
Did you know…?
Leon Britton has played for Swansea in all four English divisions.
