Sunderland v Reading Tips & Odds Preview

Saturday 25 August 2012, KO 15.00

Sunderland surprised most with a well earned nil all draw against Arsenal at the Emirates last week and will no doubt be buoyed by the arrival of striker Steven Fletcher from Wolves for around £12m. Reading have just one point to show from their two matches against Stoke and Chelsea, but the Royals will feel hard done to after Fernando Torres’ crucial goal was off-side on Wednesday.

Match odds

Sunderland 5/6
Draw 5/2
Reading 7/2

It remains to be seen if Steven Fletcher will feature against Reading as the Scotland international has been struggling with an ankle problem. Sunderland are missing goals and unless Fletcher plays the best part of 90 minutes it’s hard to see where the Black Cats will find any on Saturday, making 4/5 for under 2.5 a decent bet.

Reading have found the net in their first two matches back in the big time and super-sub Adam Le Fondre represents value at 9/1 to notch the last goal of the game. The former Rotherham man has already opened his account for the season with a penalty against Stoke and usually comes on in the second half.
