Liverpool v Manchester City Tips & Odds Preview

Sunday 25 August, KO 16.00

While it may not have been as convincing as most expected, Manchester City’s defeat of newly promoted Southampton last week once again displayed their champion qualities.

City looked like they the could score at will, and proved it when they went a goal behind. Liverpool, on the other hand, are struggling to remember where the net is.

Match odds

Liverpool 2/1
Draw 12/5
Man City 29/20

Luis Suarez, for all his skills, practises the kind of profligacy a defensive midfielder would be ashamed of and Andy Carroll doesn’t look set to feature much for Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds struggled to score against Hearts in midweek and unless Fabio Borini finds his shooting boots it could be a long season on the Kop.

Despite City conceding two against Southampton last week, Roberto Mancini will have his team drilled to be secure at the back for the trip to Anfield and the Sky Blues look value at 3/1 to win to nil.

Sergio Aguero is out with a knee injury so Carlos Tevez should lead the line and the Argentinian is a swollen 6/1 to open the scoring for the second time in a week.
