Tottenham v Norwich
Saturday 1st September 2012, KO 15:00
An emotional return for Norwich City manager Chris Hughton here as he brings his side to play his former club Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Hughton spent 14 years at Spurs and will certainly be keen to show his former boss Daniel Levy that he made a mistake letting him go with a positive result here. It is vitally important for Andre Villas-Boas and his Tottenham side to register their first win of the season after dropping points against West Brom last time.

It has been a less than spectacular start for Tottenham under new manager Andre Villas-Boas. Defeat at Newcastle on the opening day was followed by a 1-1 draw at home against West Brom. In the final minutes of that game, Spurs looked an absolute shambles and will need to defend better here if they are to take three points. That being said, they have created plenty of chances in their first two games of the campaign.
This was always going to be a difficult season for Norwich City following the club’s unbelievable run in the Premier League during their last campaign. The Canaries put opening day humiliation at the hands of Fulham behind them with a solid display against QPR to earn a point. This looks like a tough game on paper but Norwich did win at White Hart Lane last season when unfancied.
Although Spurs were not at their best against West Brom last time, I’ll be surprised if they can’t put on a decent display in front of their home fans for the second time in succession. With their transfer dealings out of the way, the action on the pitch should improve and I fancy Villas-Boas to register his first win as Tottenham manager.
