West Brom v Everton
Saturday 1st September 2012, KO 15:00
A very interesting match in store here with two sides that have made surprisingly solid starts to the current campaign. David Moyes takes his Everton side to the Hawthornes trying to protect a 100% record with two wins from two games thus far. Making it three from three won’t be easy however, as Steve Clarke has got his West Brom side playing some decent stuff and they have picked up four points from their opening two games.
Match Betting Odds
West Brom fans would have been forgiven for thinking that this season may be a tough one following the departure of Roy Hodgson but they look to have found the right man for the job in Steve Clarke. An impressive home win over Liverpool was followed by a come from behind draw at Tottenham last time and although it’s early days, it looks like the Baggies could well be in for another positive season.
Everton are notoriously slow starters, so the fact that they have won their first two games of the season will be a huge positive to everyone at the club. A 1-0 victory over Man Utd was followed by a 3-0 victory at Villa Park and with form like that, there is no saying where the Toffees might finish this season. David Moyes continues to produce results season after season on a tight budget and I think the club have been very fortunate to retain his services for so many years.
I expect this match to be a really fierce battle with both sides having a real never say die attitude. Everton might just edge it in terms of quality, but with home advantage, I fancy West Brom to continue their unbeaten run and take a point from David Moyes’ team.
