Sunderland v Liverpool Betting Preview & Tips
English Premier League, Football Betting Tips
Liverpool cap off an emotional week, in which their fans were forever exonerated of fault for the Hillsborough disaster, with a trip to Sunderland.
Both clubs are searching for their first victories of the new Premier League season and despite currently languishing in the bottom three the Reds are clear favourites.
Match Odds
Sunderland 23/10
Draw 23/10
Liverpool 5/4
Brendan Rodgers will no doubt call on his team to produce a performance for the fans after Wednesday’s revelations and there is probably still value in the short price for an away win.
Sunderland, however, are much improved since the arrival of their tardy raft of summer signings, with Adam Johnson and Steven Fletcher looking like great, if somewhat expensive, business for the Black Cats.
But while a Liverpool victory still gets the vote, the Merseysiders have looked porous at the back. Goalkeeper Pepe Reina looks a man in decline, culpable for two of the seven goals he has conceded in just three matches.
Both teams to score is a best price of 5/6 but a better option could be the 8/1 available for Liverpool to come from behind and win.
And, working off the presumption Sunderland will find the back of the net at some point, Fletcher’s 12/5 anytime goalscorer odds look swollen.
