Tottenham Hotspur v QPR Tips PreviewEnglish Premier League
Tottenham v QPR
Sunday 23rd September 2012, KO 16:00
One of two games kicking off at 4pm this Sunday as Tottenham host Queens Park Rangers at White Hart Lane. Andre Villas-Boas’ side put up an impressive display at Reading last time and it will be interesting to see whether they can build on that first victory of the season here. Mark Hughes and his QPR team have found things tough in the Premier League thus far this campaign and are yet to register a win. They come here desperate for three points and won’t make life easy for Spurs.

Although sections of the Spurs fans were starting to question the merits of new manager Andre Villas-Boas, the performance at Reading last weekend has gone a long way to silence the critics. Tottenham played some sublime football at times during that game and while Reading are a newly promoted side, I can’t see many teams going there and scoring three goals. Spurs do have the distraction of a Europa League tie against Lazio midweek but it’s likely a number of the first team will be rested in any case.
QPR only have two points to their name thus far this season following two defeats and two draws in the Premier League. Their opening day humiliation at the hands of Swansea will have been a huge setback for manager Mark Hughes but he has managed to steady the ship slightly since then and a clean sheet at home against Chelsea last time sows things are improving.
If Spurs can reproduce the level of form they showed against Reading, they are going to be very hard to beat here. The arrival of the new signings on deadline days gives the manager a number of options and they look too strong for QPR with home advantage.
