Liverpool v Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview
English Premier League
Newcastle may sit three points and two places ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table but they are unlikely to harbour much confidence when they travel to Anfield on Sunday.
The Magpies have a terrible record against the Reds and have managed just one away victory against them ever in the Premier League – and that 2-0 win was back in the inaugural 1993/94 season.
Match Odds
Liverpool 8/13
Draw 3/1
Newcastle 11/2
Brendan Rodgers’ young side were denied back-to-back triumphs for the first time this season when Luis Suarez’s 93rd minute strike was incorrectly chalked off by the linesmen against Everton but the Uruguayan is tipped to help his side record their first consecutive home league victories under the new manager.
Newcastle have lost their previous seven matches at Anfield, three by the way of a 3-0 scoreline and the Merseysiders have succeeded in sticking at least three past their north east whipping boys seven times in this fixture in the past 11 years.
Rodgers’ team are advised to score over 2.5 goals again with the in-form Suarez getting the nod to bag his eighth goal of the season at 6/5 in the anytime market.
Newcastle were extremely fortunate to beat West Brom last weekend, with Pappis Cisse’s last-minute deflection proving the difference, but that luck should run out in L4 on Sunday and as Liverpool are their usual minuscule price in the results market back them instead at 6/4 to cover the -1 handicap.
