Chelsea begin the defence of their Champions League title with a potentially tricky home fixture against Italian champions Juventus on Wednesday night.

Roberto Di Matteo’s team have started this season where they left off the last and sit pretty at the top of the Premier League with 10 points from four matches.

The Blues are clear favourites for the victory at 5/4, which looks decent value, while Juve are as big as 13/5 with some firms.

However, Chelsea last won a competitive match on 25 August and have since been humbled 4-1 by Atletico Madrid in the World Club Championships and drawn 0-0 with QPR so the result is by no means a foregone conclusion.

An opening loss would be disastrous to the west Londoners’ campaign so expect Chelsea to be play conservatively with a 1-0 home victory getting the vote at 7/1.

The same score line in the half-time market is available at 3s and with the Blues likely to start the quickest in front of a raucous Stamford Bridge this could also prove good value.
