Friday’s Horse Racing Tips From BrightonHorse Racing Tips, VIP Gambler of the Day
There are some decent cards this Friday, with horse racing action from Brighton, Chepstow, Haydock Park and Kempton Park. There is also horse racing in Ireland from Kilbeggan. While there is no real top class action today, there are some decent looking handicaps, and definitely some betting opportunities to be taken advantage of. Here are our best two selections for Friday.
The You Raise Me Up Handicap is a race open to horses aged three years and older and is run over a trip of one mile and one furlong. There is £2,264 on offer to the winning connections and 12 runners go to post. The Seamus Durack trained course and distance winner Kelpie Blitz heads the betting here at odds of 7/2. This three year old last ran 17 days ago when winning over this course and distance off a mark of 62.
That was his first victory to date and the gelding might well be able to build on that success now the penny has dropped. I think the favourite could be worth taking on however with George Baker’s runner I’m Harry. Although he finished last of five runner last time out, he was only beaten 3 lengths by the winner and now races off a career low mark of 64. I’m Harry’s effort at Lingfield prior to that was encouraging, finishing 3rd to Shena’s Dream. He definitely has solid each way claims if reproducing that form.

A six furlong contest here, the Brasserie Italian Brighton Marina Handicap is a class five race open to horses aged three years and older. Nine runners go to post to compete for the £2,264 first prize and they are headed by the Peter Chamings runner Eager To Bow who Betfred make their 5/2 favourite. One of three course and distance winner in the field, Eager To Bow has won three of his last four starts and stayed on well here last time out to win with something in hand.
A rise of 4lbs in the weights doesn’t look excessive and he’s sure to go close again. The main threat to the favourite could well come from Seb Sanders’ mount Aciano. Sanders is something of a Brighton specialist and has had much success at the track over the years. Aciano has been ultra consistent this season at this kind of level and I think Brendan Powell’s inmate is the one they all have to beat.
