2012 Premier League Snooker Odds & Tips

Week seven of the 2012 Premier League Snooker season, and we have three matches this week due to the suspension of Stephen Lee and the abandonment of last week’s Premier League. It means that Stuart Bingham will have to play twice this week with tough looking matches against both Mark Selby and Neil Robertson. With the way he’s played thus far during the competition however, he should fear no one. The other game this Thursday is a real mouth watering prospect as Judd Trump takes on John Higgins in a repeat of the exciting Shanghai Masters final earlier this season.

Here is the outright market following Stephen Lee’s omission with prices from bet365

Judd Trump 15/8
Neil Robertson 4/1
John Higgins 4/1
Ding Junhui 11/2
Stuart Bingham 15/2
Mark Allen 8/1
Mark Selby 40/1
Peter Ebdon 50/1
Shaun Murphy 250/1

Stuart Bingham 5/2 v Mark Selby Evs The Draw 9/4 (odds from bet365)

The first match of the evening and I think the bookies might have underestimated Stuart Bingham in the first of his two encounters this evening. Bingham has started his 2012 Premier League campaign in decent fashion and is currently on three points after two games played. Mark Selby hasn’t started very brightly at all losing his first two matches and looked really out of sorts against Ding Junhui last time. I think Bingham is the value play at 5/2 here.

Judd Trump 6/5 v John Higgins 2/1 The Draw 9/4 (odds from bet365)

A real classic in prospect here as two of the favourites for the 2012 Premier League title clash in Group Two. Both Judd Trump and John Higgins have won their opening matches in the competition and the result of this encounter could be crucial in determining who ends up as champion. It’s a tough one to call, with both players in solid form and capable of playing well over this quick format. I’d have to side with the draw at odds of 9/4 with bet365.

Stuart Bingham 11/4 v Neil Robertson 10/11 The Draw 9/4 (odds from bet365)

Tonight’s final match and Stuart Bingham’s second of the evening, sees him face Australian former World Champion Neil Roberston. While I think Bingham is one of the most under rated players on the scene at the present time, I also feel Robertson is one of the most accomplished. The reining Masters champion is well fancied by the bookmakers to win this year’s Premier League and is as short as 4/1 with bet365 following two victories from two matches played. Although he’s short enough at 10/11, Robertson would be my Nap of the evening and he can put himself in a very strong position as far as the title is concerned with a win here.
