The London 2012 women’s football gave us our first Olympic profit on Wednesday so we have decided to revisit the competition today.

Brazil, like their male counterparts, set their stall out as gold medal favourites with an emphatic win in their opening match, with the South Americans beating Cameroon 5-0.

We have decided to back them, somewhat conservatively, to cover the -1 handicap in today’s match with New Zealand who looked porous at best at the back against Team GB.

Team USA are also advised to cover the handicap against Columbia, much like they did in their opener against arguably tougher opposition France. Columbia do not appear to pose much of a threat and succumbed easily to North Korea on Wednesday.

However, the Koreans should not have it their own way today. France also impressed in their opener taking a two-goal lead against the Americans before eventually losing and they should have enough quality to secure victory in their second match of Group G.
