Betting TIP Of The Day: Preston v Huddersfield League Cup
Football Betting Tips, VIP Gambler of the Day
The new football season may only be three days old but we’re already 11 points in profit thanks to three out of four successful tips.
Today’s domestic football action comes from the Capital One Cup first round. Preston North End take on Championship new boys Huddersfield Town at Deepdale this evening (KO 19.45) and with the Terriers depleted through international call-ups the odds look swollen for a home victory.
Town boss Simon Grayson is without the services of last season’s top scorer Jordan Rhodes as well as Sean Scannell, Oliver Norwood and Murray Wallace.
Rhodes’ absence also makes the price of evens for under 2.5 goals appear a good choice. Preston, under manager Graham Westley, offered little to no imagination going forward last season and of the Lillywhites final ten matches only eight produced three or more goals.
While, Westley (pictured) has rung the changes over the summer to the extent of making 13 new signings he has also ostracized last season’s top scorer Iain Hume and his deputy Neil Mellor has retired so it is hard to see where the goals will come from.
North End do have the comfort of having history on their side however. This will only be the third time these two clubs have met in the League Cup and Preston have won both previous meetings, the last coming in 1978. The Lillywhites also prevailed 1-0 in last season’s home meeting with Huddersfield.
