Betting TIP Of The Day: Capital One CupFootball Betting Tips, VIP Gambler of the Day
Preston beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 yesterday to take our record for the new season, still only four days old, to five out of seven correct tips for a very healthy 18 points profit.
As it’s been so kind to us we’re going back to the Capital One Cup again for today’s VIP Gamble. There are 18 first round ties being played tonight but we’re focusing on just three.
Tranmere are out to 2/1 with some bookmakers to prevail over League Two’s Chesterfield, and while the Spireites are at home that price seems far too large for a club boasting league supremacy.
Ronnie Moore has strengthened his Rovers’ side this summer with the smart acquisition of Everton youth product James Wallace (pictured) – a move which was vindicated last week when he helped his new team defeat a strong Toffees’ eleven, including Jack Rodwell, in the Liverpool Senior Cup final.
Another club which appears generously priced are Leicester, who are 5/6 to knock out League Two’s Torquay. Like Tranmere, City’s odds appear to have been inflated due to them playing away but don’t let that put you off.
Torquay are without several key players through injury tonight including Danny Stevens, Lloyd Macklin and Nathan Craig and the Gulls have never beaten Championship opposition in the League Cup, losing on all four previous attempts.
The upset of the round could come at the Sixfields Stadium where Northampton host Cardiff City. The Bluebirds (if they can still justify that nickname) are missing no less than eight players on international duty and that can prove a hard obstacle to overcome, as Huddersfield found out last night.
The Cobblers are as big as 7/2 to book their place in the second round.
