The new season is back, and we thought we’d mark the occasion with a lower league treble.

MK Dons, second favourites for the League One title, take on Oldham and Karl Robinson’s team should oblige their 8/11 odds for the win.

The Dons have been strengthened by the summer signings of Ryan Lowe and Alan Smith and can now boast a strike force to rival any in the division. Lowe (pictured) was in great form for Sheffield Wednesday last season and he should flourish under Robinson.

Swindon are another team who have bolstered their attacking options in the off-season, with manager Paolo Di Canio raiding Yeovil and Shrewsbury for their top scorers, Andy Williams and James Collins respectively.

The Robins kick off life in League one against Hartlepool who were well beaten by Crewe 4-0 in the Capital One Cup last weekend.

The last piece of our treble puzzle comes in the form of Preston North End. The Lillywhites were imperious against Huddersfield mid-week in the League Cup, despite manager Graham Westley fielding 10 summer signings in his starting 11.

North End host Colchester whose fortunes in the Cup were quite different as John Ward’s side went down 3-0 to Yeovil.
