Liverpool travel north of the border tonight for their Europa League qualifier with Hearts without captain Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez.

Martin Skrtel, Joe Cole, Luis Enrique and Glen Johnson are also all staying on Merseyside, leaving manager Brendan Rodgers with some selection headaches.

Rodgers could call on 17-year-old Raheem Sterling to fill a void in attack, while new signing Oussama Assaidi is cup tied.

However, despite the first team absentees Liverpool should have enough quality and depth of squad to see off a side who could only manage to draw with Inverness last time out.

And after his Liverpool team lost 3-0 to West Brom on the opening day there is little chance of Rodgers taking the cup lightly as he will be all too aware of the impending cat-calls of ‘Dalgleish’ from the Kop should poor results start to mount up.

Liverpool are a short 4/6 to win in Edinburgh tonight so instead go for the Reds’ to win by one goal at 11/4 with Ladbrokes.
